NEW YORK CITY-Two lease deals that have closed of late with financial services firms for space in the Plaza District have approached the $200-a-square-foot level, according to a report.
The pricey transactions involve the hedge fund Ruane, Cunniff & Goldfarb Inc.'s lease for the top floor at 9 W. 57th St. and Banco Itau of Brazil, which is expanding its penthouse space at the General Motors Building at 767 Fifth Ave, according to Crain's New York Business. The deals come in at nearly three times the midtown lease price average.
Ruane, Cunniff & Goldfarb is taking the entire 50th floor or approximately 28,000 square feet at 9 W. 57th St. Banco Itau is expanding from 25,000 square feet to approximately 35,000 square feet at the GM Building. See story in Crain's New York Business.
