CHICAGO-Google is reportedly looking to relocate its Chicago office to the city's meat packing district.

Sources tell Crain's Chicago Business that the company is in talks on a possible move where it would lease more than 200,000 square feet of office space. Google's is outgrowing the Kinzie Street tower where it occupies approximately 150,000 square feet. The lease deal expires at the end of 2015.

The Mountainview, CA-based technology firm is reportedly in discussions with Sterling Bay Cos., of Chicago, which is in the process of converting an existing warehouse building and an attached new structure at 1000 W. Fulton St. into approximately 540,000 square feet of office and retail space. The project is expected to be finished by late 2014.

If Google signs a lease, it would join SRAM International Corp. at the Fulton Street office property. The bike gear maker will move its North Side headquarters to the property and has signed a lease for approximately 75,000 square feet. See story in Crain's Chicago Business.
