TYSONS CORNER, VA-Washington Real Estate Investment Trust says it plans to spend between $30 million to $35 million to upgrade its 7900 Westpark Drive building here.
The renovation of the 13-story Tower building is sparked by a need to remain competitive with new development projects in the area, according to the Washington Business Journal.
"It was really time for a complete renovation," WRIT Senior Vice President Tom Regnell says. "It's just a great opportunity to reposition this project, we think, at a price point that will be very competitive with new construction."
The Tower building is one of three in the 540,000-square-foot office Westpark office complex. The building has about 150,000 square feet of vacant space, and the future occupancy of its anchor tenant, Sunrise Senior Living Inc., is not clear. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
