NASHVILLE-The state of Tennessee is outsourcing facility management and operation of its owned and leased properties to Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle in the hopes it can save $50 million in the next five years.
Tennessee owns 70% of its 10.5 million square foot real estate portfolio across the state. In Shelby County, the state owns 207,665 rentable square feet of property and leases 286,331 rentable square feet, according to the Memphis Business Journal.
“The value we bring to the table is we're buying those services all the time,” Paul Uber, managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle, says. “We're constantly in the market buying across the US and across Tennessee janitorial, landscaping and security. We have a large sourcing platform that works with local, regional and national providers.” See Memphis Business Journal.
