NEW YORK CITY-Malkin Holdings, which is attempting to form a $5-billion real estate investment trust anchored by the Empire State Building, reveals in an SEC filing that a bidder has emerged for the second largest building in the portfolio.

In a financial filing with the SEC last week, Malkin reveals that an unnamed party has submitted an offer of $710 million fro 60 E. 42nd St., a 55-story, 1.3-million-square-foot building located across the street from Grand Central Terminal, according to Crain's New York Business.

Previously, several bids worth more than $2 billion have been made on the Empire State Building by a number of prominent New York City building owners. See story in Crain's New York Business.
