WASHINGTON, DC-Douglas Development secured a full building lease for a Capitol Hill holding—a very small holding. Pret A Manger is taking all of the 4,300 square feet available at 301 Pennsylvania Ave., SE. The two-story building is located two blocks from the US Capitol and two blocks from the Capitol South metro station. The London-based restaurant chain will move into the new location by next spring.

The building features two floors of indoor dining space and a large outdoor patio. For the past fifteen years, Cosi has occupied this spot, next to former Top Chef Contestant Spike Mendelsohn's two restaurants, Good Stuff Eatery and We The Pizza. Its neighbors and the building's location on a busy downtown corner, will allow Pret A Manager to "undoubtedly thrive", Douglas Development Principal Norman Jemal says in a prepared statement.

Pret A Manger opened its first US location in 2000 near the New York Stock Exchange. It then moved into Washington DC, followed by Chicago and Boston.
