ROCKVILLE, MD-A tenant in First Potomac Realty Trust's Redland Corporate Center here has secured LEED Commercial Interiors Platinum certification for the improvements it made to its space in the property. The company, an engineering and construction services company, is leasing 7,897 square feet at 530 Gaither Rd.

It upgraded its space on the first floor, focusing on water-use reduction, especially in the restrooms. It was these improvements, along with the Gold certification that the building itself has secured, pushed GPI's score to a total of 81 points.

The certification is only the fourth office space in all of Maryland to secure LEED CI Platinum. The other four tenants are also located in the same building.

Redland Corporate Center is fully leased, consisting of two multi-story office buildings totaling 348,469 square feet. It achieved LEED Gold certification when it was originally built in 2009.
