SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA-GlobeSt.com has learned exclusively that Sidney-based UGL Limited has appointed Tod Lickerman as DTZ global CEO, effective October 14. Lickerman, who replaces outgoing DTZ group president Robert Shibuya, was most recently CEO, corporate solutions Americas, with Jones Lang LaSalle.

According to DTZ, Lickerman's appointment is a “key strategic change which will accelerate growth and further capitalize on the momentum DTZ is already generating as the business prepares to stand alone as an ASX-listed company with revenue in excess of $2 billion and 45,000 people operating across 52 countries.”

Lickerman comes to DTZ, a UGL Co., with more than 30 years' experience in the property-services industry, the majority of which was with JLL. In his most-recent role with that firm, he was responsible for the leadership of the comprehensive corporate-services integrated platform that provided portfolio strategy, workplace consulting, transaction services, project and development services, facilities management and mobile-engineering services. In addition, He was responsible for the healthcare solutions and public-institutions businesses, providing integrated real estate an facility services to the healthcare, public and non-profit industries, and oversaw the firm's facilities-management business in Europe.

“We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Tod Lickerman in this pivotal role for DTZ,” says Richard Leupen, UGL's managing director and CEO. “Our ability to attract a candidate of Tod's caliber is testament to the strength and potential of the DTZ platform. Tod is an industry veteran and a talented, top-tier senior executive who shares our vision of creating a world leader in property services. His extensive operational experience, unparalleled understanding of the needs of corporate clients and entrepreneurial drive will provide the strategic leadership required for the next phase of DTZ's evolution.”

Regarding Shibuya, Leupen adds that he was “an important member of the team responsible for the acquisition and integration of the trading operations of DTZ Holdings PLC into our broader property-services business, creating DTZ's global footprint. I would like to thank Bob for his contribution to DTZ and wish him success in his future endeavors.”

As GlobeSt.com reported in August, DTZ is stepping up its game in the New York City metro area with the hiring of industry veteran David Gialanella in the newly established position of executive managing director for the company's New York tri-state region. He'll be working with a team that in recent days has been bolstered by the addition of Joyce Geiger in another newly created position, that of SVP of transaction advisory services. Both Gialanella and Geiger will be based in DTZ's Manhattan offices at 1271 Ave. of the Americas.
