GLENDALE, CA-Los Angeles-based commercial builder Bernards has begun construction on the Glendale Triangle, a new mixed-use property in Glendale targeted at attracting Gen-Y tenants. Once complete, the 315,391-square-foot, seven-story property will have 303 studio, one- and two-bedroom units along with a variety of lifestyle amenities.

“This project will appeal to young creative professionals living in the Glendale area who work in the entertainment industry and related companies by providing amenities that support their busy lifestyles,” says Steve Pellegren, Bernards Preconstruction Services VP. “While entertainment companies have brought a significant number of jobs to the city, there is a scarcity of creative rental properties to house their employees.”

In close proximity to Disney and Dreamworks Studios, the property is ideally located to attract creative Gen-Y tenants, and features the amenities to do so: a pool and spa, fitness room equipped with a yoga studio, two roof decks, courtyards and a BBQ area, as well as six retail spaces to accommodate a well-balanced lifestyle. For those self-employed tenants, the property also has 16 live/work units.

Bernards anticipates completion of the project in the third quarter of 2015. The commercial construction firm has experienced a recent surge in new construction projects and, as a result, has hired 30 new professionals this year, GlobeSt.com reported earlier this month. Including the 303 units at the Glendale Triangle, the company is constructing 2,600 units in Southern California.
