MIAMI—Newgard Development Group won the Latin Builders Association's (LBA) 2013 “Developer of the Year” award. The LBA is the largest Hispanic construction association in the United States.

The annual awards program honors stand-out companies and leaders within various industries that have made a significant impact on South Florida's business community. Marc S. Coleman, senior vice president of construction for Newgard, accepted the award on the firm's behalf at the 33rd Annual 2013 LBA Awards Celebration.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award from such a well-respected and admired organization such as the Latin Builders Association,” says Coleman. “This award serves as a reflection of our firm's dedication and commitment to developing forward-thinking, innovative, top-quality projects in South Florida that offer the best in location, amenities, and design.”

Newgard's latest achievements under founder Harvey Hernandez's approach include the 374-unit BrickellHouse luxury condominium. The project kick-started Miami's current commercial real estate cycle when it launched in the upscale Brickell Financial District in late 2011.

Most recently Newgard launched the 352-unit Centro condominium, which will rise in the heart of Downtown Miami and has garnered widespread interest for its urbanistic elements, such as its loft-style units, pedestrian-friendly location, partnership with the Car2Go vehicle-sharing program, and contemporary designs by celebrity designer and social entrepreneur Yves Béhar.
