TORONTO-Cushman & Wakefield says that Scott Chandler has been promoted to president & CEO of the company's Canadian operations effective November 1. In his new role, Chandler will oversee all service lines and business initiatives within Canada.
“Scott is the right leader to grow our enterprise,” said James Underhill, CEO of Cushman & Wakefield's Americas region. “We have significant growth objectives ahead in the region and look forward to Scott working with our service line and regional leaders to execute on our strategic plan.”
The company says Chandler's advancement was the result of a rigorous selection process involving close consultation with C&W Canada's senior leadership and top producing professionals, as well as numerous interviews with a variety of highly qualified candidates.
With more than 20 years of extensive experience in commercial real estate, Chandler is a former VP of Cushman & Wakefield LePage. He rejoined C&W in 2012 after a decade in the investment banking industry to become C&W's executive managing director and head of valuation & advisory in Canada. In his most recent role, he successfully led a team of 50 professionals specializing in valuation and appraisals, property tax services, market consulting and financial due diligence.
Prior to returning to C&W, Chandler was a director at Scotia Capital where he led the real property advisory and underwriting services for the investment bank. In the course of his distinguished career, he has been involved in many of the largest transactions in Canada.
“I am very excited to lead this organization as we capitalize on the opportunities ahead,” said Chandler. “I have great confidence in Cushman & Wakefield's entrepreneurial and collaborative culture and I look forward to working closely with my colleagues as we continue to drive meaningful value to our clients while growing our platform in Canada.”
Chandler is actively involved in NAIOP and ICSC and is a regular presenter at RealCapital, Federated Press and Ontario Smart Growth seminars. A fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), he earned his Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Arts (Economics) from University of Toronto.
