GLENVIEW, IL-Scottsdale, AZ-based Globe Corp. has acquired the Anixter International Inc. headquarters here for a reported price of $26.2 million.
A venture of Globe Corp. acquired the 167,000-square-foot building located at 2301 Patriot Blvd. from four entities controlled by investors Howard Ruskin and Marilyn Lustbader, reports Crain's Chicago Business.
Anixter International is a wire and cable distribution firm that is chaired by noted investor Sam Zell. The property is in the Prairie Glen Corporate Campus where Globe also owns a 62,000-square-foot property it built earlier this year for Anixter.
“It took us a little over a year in working with the Anixter management team to design and build the second building,” says Bert A. Gertz Jr., co-CEO of Globe. “We feel that we have such a strong and trustworthy relationship that we wanted to acquire the headquarters as well.” See story in Crain's Chicago Business.
