GLENDALE, CA-C.W. Driver has completedconstruction of the $20 million Bloomingdale'sdepartment store development at the GlendaleGalleria in a former Mervyns. Therenovation was completed on a high-tech andpaperless job site—C.W. Driver's first.

Using iPad applications on the job site, the constructioncompany was able to reduce work time by 40 hours per month. Theapplication also increased communication and the ability to sharedocuments and revisions to the project plans. “The emergence of newtechnology is constantly reshaping our work site environment,” saysC.W. Driver VP Brett Curry. “Staying at theforefront of these new developments is improving our productivityto keep us on a rigorous timetable.”

This is C.W. Driver's third Bloomingdale's renovation. Theconstruction company also developed the Bloomingdale's atSouth Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA, and one atthe Santa Monica Place Mall. Modeled after theSanta Monica and SoHo, New York locations, the 127,000-square-foot,two-story project required renovations to both the interior andexterior.
