PARAMUS, NJ-The Valley Hospital is reportedly in discussions to acquire the data processing and software development facility UPS plans to vacate on Winters Avenue here.
The Ridgewood-based hospital is considering the purchase of the UPS site at 640, 650 and 670 Winters Ave., according to The Record. The UPS facilities are near the Robert and Audrey Luckow Pavilion at 1 Valley Health Plaza, located behind the Fashion Center shopping mall, that are owned by Valley Hospital.
If the negotiations are successful, sources told the newspaper that the purchase price would be approximately $25 million. For the past year, Valley Hospital has been seeking approval from Ridgewood to amend the master plan for its 15-acre site so it can increase its footprint to 995,000 square feet from 562,000 square feet. That plan has proven to be controversial, as some residents have voiced concerns over traffic and noise impacts. See story in The Record.
