LORTON, VA-Colliers International announced it has been awarded the management contract for 10501 Furnace Rd. here, a 90,167 square-foot building built for the Drug Enforcement Administration in 2000.

"This is a mission-critical facility for DEA and we are pleased to have the opportunity to manage it," says Kurt Stout, executive vice president of Colliers' Government Solutions national practice group, in a prepared statement. "Facilities like these require a specialized approach when it comes to property management, project management, engineering, accounting, tenant relations, and security."

Last month CBRE reported that it represented the seller in the $24 million sale of 10555 Furnace Rd., also a 90,167-square foot mixed-use office facility occupied by the DEA. GlobeSt.com was unable to reach Colliers or CBRE for clarification if these are the same buildings.

This contract follows Colliers' win in December for one of the largest Government Services Administration-leased property portfolios in the US, totaling more than two million square feet. The portfolio holds 21 assets across the country in Washington, Denver, Dallas and Portland, Ore, among other markets.
