LITTLE ELM, TEXAS — Hillwood Communities announced it will break ground this spring on Union Park, a 787-acre master-planned community in Little Elm, Texas north of Dallas.
The $600 million development will feature 2,400 single-family homes with 300 homes planned in the first phase.
In an effort to create a central gathering spot, Hillwood planned a 30-acre park featuring open green space, an amenity center and an amphitheater.
“People really want open spaces more than anything else in a master-planned community,” said Fred Balda, president of Hillwood Communities. “We were very deliberate in building this community around more than twice the required green space to promote a small town feel and encourage socializing.”
Union Park is located in the Highway 380 growth corridor near Legacy, Frisco, Plano, Denton, University of North Texas and DFW International Airport.
Hillwood will soon announce a second project in Manvel, Texas south of Houston. Pomona, a 1,000-acre master-planned development will also break ground this spring.
