JACKSONVILLE, FL-A possible sale is in the works for the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.

A group that specializes in hospitality properties is reportedly in sales discussions to acquire the 963-room hotel in Downtown Jacksonville. According to a report in the Jacksonville Business Journal, the unidentified suitor is in the final stages of due diligence.

The Hyatt, which was built in 2001, is owned by a lender that foreclosed on the property in early 2013.The previous owner was San Francisco-based Chartres Lodging Group, which acquired the hotel for $67 million n 2005. Chartres owed its lender $195 million in debt and fees when the lender took title to the property last year. See story in the Jacksonville Business Journal.
