JACKSONVILLE, FL—CBRE has appointed Philip S. Rachels as senior vice president of its Debt & Structured Finance Group in Jacksonville, FL. He launched his commercial real estate career in 1996 and has worked with all properties types and with a variety of financial and ownership structures.

Rachels joins CBRE from Capital Advisors in Jacksonville. He was a vice president from 2010 to 2014. In that role, he represented life insurance companies, CMBS lenders, banks, private equity investors, and other institutional investors.
Prior to joining Capital Advisors, Rachels was the founder of Corinthian Real Estate Capital, a Jacksonville-based mortgage banking company. And before that, he worked with Walker & Dunlop, where he helped developers and investors establish relationships with institutional and high-net-worth partners.
During his tenure at W&D, Rachels was responsible for arranging financing and institutional equity investments totaling more than $2.2 billion. Prior to joining W&D, he spent four years with Charles E. Smith Commercial Realty in Arlington, VA as senior director in retail investment sales.
Rachels holds a Bachelor of Science from Hampden-Sydney College. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute.
