MIAMI—Industrial commercial real estate projects continue to get underway in Miami. Miller Construction Company just started the site work for Flagler Global Logistics' new 252,000-square-foot Building 34 at Flagler Station business park in Miami's Airport West submarket.
Miller recently delivered the global logistics company's 171,944-square-foot Building 31 at Flagler Station on time and within budget. The contractor's preconstruction team is now working to drive a smooth transition for Building 34's launch.
“With PortMiami's dredging and other infrastructure improvement projects underway to prepare South Florida to receive Post-Panamax ships, we've seen a quantum leap in demand for distribution/warehouse space,” says Miller senior vice president Brian Sudduth. “The market's expectations keep rising for accessible, efficient space, and Flagler Station is meeting that demand.”
Located at 9290 NW 112 Avenue, Flagler Station Building 34 promises to allow for optimal rack layout, with 54-foot column spacing and a 30-foot clear ceiling height. International architectural firm Ware Malcomb designed the tilt-up structure.
Starboard Cruise Services, the world's leading onboard retailer, has preleased 87% of Building 34 for its main distribution center. Miller's crews will build out the tenant's interior industrial space in addition to constructing the structural shell.
Flagler Station, ranked as South Florida's largest business park with its 900-acre, campus-like setting, is close to Broward County and offers quick access to all major transportation arteries, as well as Miami International Airport, Port Miami and Port Everglades. Industry leaders including Ryder System, LagasseSweet and FedEx, among others, operate facilities at Flagler Station.
