CHARLOTTE-Hotel investment firm RLJ Lodging Trust of Bethesda, MD has agreed to acquire 10 hotels totaling 1,560 rooms from affiliates of Hyatt Hotels Corp. Among the hotels to be traded include the Hyatt House Charlotte hotel here.

RLJ Lodging, a REIT founded and chaired by Charlotte Bobcats' majority owner Bob Johnson, expects to close on the hotel package purchase that mainly involves California-based hotel properties, over the next two years, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

The 163-room Hyatt House Charlotte is located at the intersection of North Caldwell and East Trade, next door to the Time Warner Cable Arena. When the deal is finalized, RLJ will own 160 properties in North Carolina, including the Hilton Garden Inn in Durham. See story in the Charlotte Business Journal.
