SEAFORD, DE-BASF has put on the market a Polymer plant production site here that ceased operating in December 2013 as part of a larger consolidation plan. It tapped John McClellan, Henry Hanna and Tom Knopp with Sperry Van Ness – Miller Commercial Real Estate to market the property at 100 Industrial Dr. Located within the Seaford Industrial Park, it is a 54,000-square foot warehouse/industrial facility situated on 19.63 acres within the Seaford Industrial Park. It includes a private two-line rail spur with load out capabilities and 40' ceilings.
This listing, though, is not indicative of Delaware's industrial market these days, McClellan tells GlobeSt.com. "We have a couple of listings that are transitional, including BASF. But in general I would say this is a time of growing demand. We have seen a couple of deals that reflect companies drawing to Delaware," he says.
Last year ILC Dover took 90,000-square feet at a local distribution facility, he points out.
Also, looking forward, Allen Harim LLC, a South Korean based poultry company that purchased the Allen Family Foods a few years ago, is finalizing approvals to convert a shuttered 300,000 square foot former Vlasic Pickle plant in Millsboro into a poultry plant, McClellan says.
