ALISO VIEJO, CA—As part of its effort to support a Northern California expansion, locally based homebuilder New Home Co. has named Ashley Feeney SVP of land & planning and Charles McKeag regional VP, land. Feeney will be based in the firm's Roseville office, while McKeag will be based in the Walnut Creek office.

Feeney has been with New Home since 2009 and brings land acquisition and planning experience to the new position.  He will contribute to day-to-day operations in the Sacramento region and will continue to be involved in the planning and development of new master-planned communities in the area.

McKeag has been with New Home since 2011 and brings extensive experience to his new position. He will be responsible for land acquisition for the entire Northern California region.

According to Kevin Carson, president Northern California for New Home, “As we continue to grow in Northern California, our team will evolve to support strategic expansion efforts. Ashley and Charles bring years of invaluable experience in land acquisition and development to our team. With their leadership and commitment to quality homebuilding, I am confident we will continue to create communities that reflect the very best of what New Home has to offer.”

Carson tells GlobeSt.com that the firm's “entry into the Northern California market was based on a tremendous opportunity to build one-of-a-kind neighborhoods throughout a region experiencing tremendous job growth with a real need for quality and authentic housing. We've been fortunate to secure some valuable pieces of land from the exploding Silicon Valley to the rich agricultural lands surrounding Sacramento. We see Northern California as continuing to offer distinctive opportunities for us to expand and create thoughtfully designed communities for this growing and dynamic region.”

The announcement of these new positions follows the announcement of New Home becoming a publically traded company, on which GlobeSt.com has previously reported. In addition to its current Northern California expansion, the firm is also making headlines in Southern California. As GlobeSt.com reported earlier this month, New Home has begun construction on a community of 31 limited-collection estate-style homes on 17 acres of land overlooking historical San Juan Capistrano. Oliva, situated on a hillside enclave, has broken ground after many months of planning and design. Also, as GlobeSt.com reported earlier this month, the company has hired A.J. Jarvis as president of its Southern California division. Jarvis is moving from his position as president of the company's land subsidiary to president Southern California, where he will oversee the planning, development and implementation of all the company's communities in the region.
