ATLANTA—John Ferguson has climbed the ranks atCBRE all the way to the president of the SoutheastRegion. The commercial real estate firm justannounced his promotion.

Ferguson has led CBRE's Southeast Region since January 2011.According to CBRE, he was promoted to president because of his“outstanding performance” in various levels of leadership,including new business development, business and sales management,market and industry leadership, client relationships, and peoplemanagement.

In his new role as head of the Southeast Region, Fergusonoversees operations in seven market areas—Atlanta, Birmingham,Charlotte, Charleston, Greenville, Nashville, and Savannah—and isthe primary relationship manager for CBRE's affiliate offices inAlabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He has ledthe charge on the acquisition and integration of three firms in thepast 15 months.

Ferguson has worked his way up the ranks. He previously servedas market leader for CBRE's Atlanta office, where he wasresponsible for the activities of more than 500 professionalsacross the full spectrum of the company's business lines. Fergusonreceived CBRE's President's Award on three occasions in recognitionof his strong performance as Atlanta market leader.

Ferguson is a former tenant rep specialist in the Atlantaoffice, where he helped a companies plan and execute their realestate strategies. Prior to entering the real estate field, he waspresident of a leading risk management and insurance firm inAtlanta. Ferguson is a graduate of the University of Georgia andresides in Atlanta with his wife and two children.
