SAN FRANCISCO—Arbor Commercial Mortgage LLCappointed Garth Davis as senior vice president andWestern regional director. Davis is responsible for originatingFannie Mae, FHA/HUD,CMBS, Bridge,Mezzanine and Preferred Equitytransactions for multifamily and healthcare propertiesnationwide.

Davis is based in the company's San Francisco office and reportsto John Caulfield, chief operating officer. Davisbrings 14 years of nationwide lending experience to Arbor acrossFHA, agency and CMBS financing platforms for both the multifamilyand healthcare sectors.

According to the firm, Davis' finance transaction expertiseincludes, short- and long-term financing, fixed- and floating-ratedebt, new construction, acquisitions, refinancings, debtrestructurings and capital structuring.

Most recently, he was successful in originating a $70-millionmultifamily acquisition transaction structured utilizingfloating-interest-only bridge financing with an eventual FHA/HUDpermanent loan. It directly met the clients' objectives of initialshort-term debt, maximized proceeds and cash flow and,subsequently, low-risk, long-term, fixed-rate permanent debt.

Davis was also one of the few loan originators to recentlysecure FHA/HUD long-term financing with an early rate lock, saysthe firm. “This allowed Davis to eliminate the interest rate riskthat the volatile market could have had on the debtinstrument.”

Davis wasn't able to provide further information at thistime regarding his thoughts on the market, but we will catch up tohim after he gets settled in the new position.
