MIAMI—Veteran residential real estate developer Oscar Barbara has been inducted into the Florida Atlantic Building Association's Hall of Fame.

The innovative builder and founder of Luxcom Co. was given the association's highest honor at its annual Florida Prism Best Awards dinner on April 26, 2014. Barbara, who served as president of the association 10 years ago, was honored for his commitment to excellence and leadership in the residential real estate industry, as well as his generosity through charitable giving.

"I'm exceptionally honored to be inducted into the Florida Atlantic Building Association Hall of Fame, in no small part on account of the distinguished names of those who received this recognition before me,” says Barbara. “I hope this award—and the organization as a whole—continues to shine a light on the exemplary work being done around the state, and particularly in South Florida.”

Among Barbara's philanthropic commitments include service on organization's boards of directors, memberships, and financial support of organizations such as the Chapman Partnership, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward, Baptist Hospital Foundation, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America and the March of Dimes.

“The past several years have been a source of inspiration and the greatest, most rewarding challenge I could have asked for as a home builder,” he says. “Throughout it all, we continued to uphold the eminent standards for which I am being recognized, and will continue to do so at our newest residential development, Mosaic at Venetian Parc.”
