VICTORVILLE, CA—Stirling Capital Investments says United Furniture Industries, the exclusive U.S. manufacturer of Simmons furniture upholstery, has renewed its 505,192-square-foot lease at the Southern California Logistics Centre.
A long-term tenant, at the 2,500-acre industrial and commercial complex in Victorville, United Furniture Industries signed a three-year extension agreement for use of its manufacturing facility. As part of the company's plans, it will expand manufacturing and assembly lines at the site as a means of increasing production and will increase its workforce at the facility.
“The facilities at Southern California Logistics Centre are home to many known companies with well located manufacturing and warehousing space needs,” said Stirling Capital Investments' COO Brian Parno. “We are currently 99% leased and building out two existing spec facilities to accommodate existing market demand.”
A tenant since 2012 at Southern California Logistics Centre, United Furniture Industries provides microfiber, bonded leather and upholstery fabric furniture, sofa models, sectionals, chaise lounges, recliners, motion sofas and Hide-A-Bed sleepers. The company's Victorville facility is one of eight in the U.S. and the most productive. The company has initiated an expansion of its manufacturing onsite, increasing assembly lines from six to eight.
“Our Victorville facility meets demand across the entire western United States where our marketshare is growing rapidly,” said Jim Dye, general manager of United Furniture. “We are extremely pleased with the regional labor market in Victorville and plan to hire an additional 50 employees over the next few months to handle our expanded assembly lines.”
In addition to United Furniture Industries, Stirling Capital also signed a new four-year 7,359-square foot lease agreement with Solar City Corporation, a national leader in clean energy services; a six-year extension and expansion lease agreement for 119,128 square feet of space with existing tenant Pacific Aviation Group, a leader in commercial aerospace offering aircraft leasing, aircraft overhaul and repair, and aircraft replacement parts; and a lease renewal for a 55,000-square foot space with existing tenant Southern California Aviation, a commercial aerospace company specializing in the transition, reconfiguration and redeployment of aircraft for commercial and private customers.
Stirling Capital Investments has responded to strong market demand for space with the current build out of spec office space within two remaining multi-tenant industrial units at the Global Access Business Centre complex. Once construction is complete, the buildings will feature full warehouse capabilities with “move-in ready” office space included. The new suites will each total between 3,800 and 5,500 square feet of space.
Jay Dick of CB Richard Ellis represented Stirling Capital Investments and Joe Brady of The Bradco Companies represented United Furniture Industries in the lease transaction.
