SAN ANTONIO–On Wednesday plans were announced to convert thebarracks at Brooks City Base into residentialapartments. The PPA Group and 210Development Group have partnered with Brooks City Base onthe project, which has been named Aviator at Brooks CityBase.
“Saving these buildings that would have potentially ended up ina landfill and converting them into new apartments is a way that wecan pay homage to San Antonio's rich military history,” saidMichael Wibracht, president of 210 DevelopmentGroup, during the project unveiling event.
The adaptive reuse project will renovate fourexisting structures, which formerly served as officer-enlistedquarters. Three additional buildings will be built to bring a totalof 280 apartment units to the market.
