LAS VEGAS—The first phase of DowntownSummerlin—the premier retail and entertainment destinationbeing built in the heart of the Summerlin master plannedcommunity—will open October 9, according to anannouncement from the The Howard HughesCorporation.

When the entire 400-acre development iscomplete, Downtown Summerlin will include a mix of retail,entertainment, office, hotel and multi-family residential, alldesigned to create a walkable urban core serving the22,500-acre master planned community and theentire Las Vegas Valley.

Construction began in the middle of 2013 on the expansive,106-acre development, which represents the firstphase in the future 400-acre Downtown Summerlin. The initial phasewill feature more than 125 stores and restaurants in a walkabledowntown shopping environment in the center of the award-winningSummerlin master planned community. Located just off of the215 Beltway, between Sahara Avenue and CharlestonBoulevard, the development will also include a nine-story class Aoffice building - One Summerlin.
