IRVINE, CA—Auction.com's CEO JeffFrieden has been named a finalist forEY's Entrepreneur of the Year2014 in the Orange County region. Now in its28th year, the EY awards program recognizesentrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary successin such areas as innovation, financial performance and personalcommitment to their businesses and communities.

Frieden joins a group of finalists selected from nearly 80nominations. The winners will be announced at a June 4 gala at theSt. Regis Resort in Dana Point, CA.

Under Frieden's leadership, Auction.com has sold $20 billion inreal estate assets since 2010 and is now valued at $1.2 billion. Arecent $50-million investment by Google Capitalis expected to further solidify the company's leadership in onlinereal estate sales. As GlobeSt.com previously reported, Auction.com presidentJake Seid told us, “I think the investment reallyvalidates our vision for using the Internet to transact realestate. We focus on making the process more transparent for thebuyer, seller and broker. For Google Capital, their mission is toinvest in late-stage businesses that are fundamentally transforminglarge markets, and we were their bet in real estate.”
