RANCHO MIRAGE, CA—The River at Rancho Mirage, a 277,550-square-foot shopping plaza here, is being purchased by, Pacific Castle, of Irvine.
According to a local media report, The River's senior asset manager confirmed Thursday the company is in the process of buying the 12-year-old mall, with an expected closing date of June 10.
Pacific Castle owns properties throughout Southern California, as well as in Las Vegas and the Phoenix area.
The sale price was not reported.
Pacific Castle was the top bidder for the retail and restaurant center at the northwest corner of Bob Hope Drive and Highway 111. It was developed by J.H. Snyder Co. on a triangle of land assembled by the city's former redevelopment agency, and sold to Grosvenor Group, in November 2005.
Grosvenor put the shopping plaza, on the market earlier this year after failing to get any satisfactory bids in a previous attempt to sell a couple of years ago.
