SANTA CLARA, CA—Ericsson plans to occupy a new400,000 square foot campus at Santa Clara Squarethat will consolidate the tech giant's Silicon Valley operations.When completed next year, it will bring together approximately2,000 Ericsson staff dedicated to drivinginnovation in IP and TV and media.

The Stocholm-based tech firm says its new campus builds onEricsson's commitment to strategic investment in the region,including the acquisition last September ofMicrosoft's Mediaroom TVplatforms and services division.

“Ericsson's new campus unites our rapidly expanding SiliconValley workforce and creates an environment that will inspire ouremployees and customers,” says Per Borgklint,senior vice president for Ericsson. “So much of our research anddevelopment is built on internal and external collaboration.Together with our customers and partners, Ericsson is driving IP,TV and Media innovation, and accelerating development of the mediaenabled, interoperable and programmable network of tomorrow.”
