OAK BROOK, IL—The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. has just named Chong P. Huan, as chief information officer. Huan, 57, will direct all information technology initiatives for Oak Brook, IL-based Inland and its member companies. In addition, Huan will serve as chief executive officer of Inland Computer Services, Inc., Inland's in-house IT and computer services department.

“We are very excited that Chong will be bringing his decades of experience in the IT industry to Inland,” says Tim Hutchison, chief operating officer of Inland. “Now more than ever, technology plays a key role in the success of any business, and he has a proven track record of excellence.”

Huan most recently served as chief technology officer and head of infrastructure for Cole Real Estate Investments, where he aligned IT strategy with business development, and took part in strategic planning and information management to enable capital raising, acquisitions and growing shareholder value. Huan oversaw the firm's shift to a cloud-based managed service model that company officials say improved efficiency and cost management.

Prior to joining Cole, Huan was the principal and founder of CIR-Solutions LLC, an IT consulting firm; chief technology officer for Citi Global Investment Research, a global financial analyst company; senior information officer for AIG Investments and chief information officer for New York Life Investment Management, a $210 billion investment subsidiary of New York Life.

Huan received his executive master of technology management degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a master's in business administration from Northeastern University. He holds a bachelor of science in engineering from Oxford University in England.
