LAS VEGAS-Job growth and housing starts are a recipe for retail success, and it's the recipe happening in San Bernardino County, a GlobeSt.com Thought Leader. Economic Development Agency Administrator Kelly Reenders, in this exclusive interview that took place during the recent RECon convention, explained the extent to which the San Bernardino County retail scene is transforming, going from really good to great.

Job growth and housing starts are both up in the County, said Reenders, and with that, “a wide variety of retailers” such as Hobby Lobby are either moving into or expanding in the market. New concepts are coming in as well, and, as Reenders explained, “We want them to be successful,” and the County has programs to support that growth.

She mentioned that RECon was a terrific venue to spread to potential retail partners the story of San Bernardino's economic health and pro-business stance, as well as providing the opportunity to follow up with current partners to gauge their progress.
