ALEXANDRIA, VA—Akridge will shortly announcethat it is closing on 2800 Eisenhower Ave. This isthe company's second acquisition in the Alexandria submarket thisyear.

As it happens, Akridge owned the same building years ago, whenit purchased it in 1996 out of bankruptcy for $9.9 million. Thecompany renovated it and pre-leased to the Eastern Group. It soldabout ten years later. Public records suggest the owner is aproperty trust company based in Massachusetts. A call to Akridgewas not returned to for confirmation of thesedetails.

Akridge is expected to make significant upgrades to theproperty, which is nearly vacant right now after its largesttenant, Honeywell/ADT Securities, has just moved to the ADTAlexandria headquarters location at 3601 Eisenhower Ave.
