MIAMI—Miami is about to get a lot more entertaining as a luxury movie theater chain announces a significant expansion in the region. iPic Theaters just inked a lease with Dezer Development that will see a new eight-screen, 40,000-square-foot luxury movie theater come online at North Miami Beach's Intracoastal Mall.
Dezer recently acquired the Intracoastal Mall, which sits on a 26-acre site alongside the Intracoastal Waterway. The mall offers 234,000 square feet of shops, restaurants and commercial businesses.
Dezer will start construction on iPic Theaters North Miami Beach within 90 days. The theater is slated to open fall 2015. It's one of there iPic theaters currently under development in Greater Miami.
iPic North Miami Beach will have eight auditoriums with seating between 50 to 90 people. All auditoriums will be equipped with 4K digital cinema technology. Guests can reserve seats ahead of time on iPic's reservation system or download the iPic App to their iPhones.
How luxury is luxury? The new iPic Theaters at Intracoastal Mall will offer guests Premium or Premium Plus seating. Premium seat ticketholders will sit in large plush leather seats and can purchase food and beverages from Tanzy Express. Premium-Plus seating features reclining, oversized leather chairs, pillows and blankets, and individual service-call buttons that bring servers to deliver signature dishes or hand-crafted cocktails from Tanzy Express, which features award-winning mixologist Adam Seger.
