CHARLOTTE, NC—In a move to increase its presence in theSoutheast, Walker & Dunlop Inc. reports it hasopened a new office here. The commercial finance firm already haslocations in Atlanta, Boca Raton, Nashville, New Orleans, Tampa andFort Lauderdale.

The company states that in addition to loan origination, theCharlotte office will also contain much of the credit operationsfor Walker & Dunlop's new CMBS conduit.

The Charlotte market presents a large lending opportunity fueledby the steady decrease in unemployment and North Carolina'ssuccessful efforts in attracting large firms to Charlotte'sUniversity Research Park, the company states in itsannouncement.
