ANNAPOLIS—MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services is seeking to grow its retail operations here and throughout southern Maryland and the DC-area suburbs. To that end it has recruited Virginia "Ginny" Vernick as a Vice President. The 30-year industry veteran will spearhead MacKenzie's retail expansion efforts.

Vernick joins the MacKenzie team after 27 years with Transwestern. A Montgomery County native, Vernick entered the commercial real estate market after graduating from the University of Maryland at College Park. She has focused on most asset classes throughout her career, including office, flex, industrial and retail, with the last five years devoted to transitioning mainly to retail.

Vernick will be joining Patricia B. Farrell, Justin T. Mullen, and John "Ned" Foster, in MacKenzie's Annapolis location on Severn Avenue.

Separately, earlier this month MacKenzie also announced it had hired Andrew M Manley as a SVP. He will be responsible for providing capital markets advisory and consulting services, including debt and equity financing and development of investment products.
