ANNAPOLIS—MacKenzie Commercial Real EstateServices is seeking to grow its retail operations here andthroughout southern Maryland and the DC-area suburbs. To that endit has recruited Virginia "Ginny" Vernick as aVice President. The 30-year industry veteran will spearheadMacKenzie's retail expansion efforts.

Vernick joins the MacKenzie team after 27 years withTranswestern. A Montgomery County native, Vernickentered the commercial real estate market after graduating from theUniversity of Maryland at College Park. She has focused on mostasset classes throughout her career, including office, flex,industrial and retail, with the last five years devoted totransitioning mainly to retail.

Vernick will be joining Patricia B. Farrell, Justin T.Mullen, and John "Ned" Foster, inMacKenzie's Annapolis location on Severn Avenue.
