BIRMINGHAM, UK—Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Andrew Walker partner as he joins the firm as UK head of real estate litigation.
With a legal career spanning 30 years, Walker is an experienced litigator and was formerly a founding partner of the real estate disputes team at CMS Cameron McKenna.
He advises a range of clients including institutional investors, developers, banks, corporate and charity owners and occupiers of real estate on their property disputes. Noted for being “commercially minded and client-focused,” according to Chambers and Partners in its 2014 client guide to the UK legal market, Mr. Walker is commended for handling complex litigation matters and for his wealth of experience in the real estate disputes arena.
Nick Green, managing partner of Squire Patton Boggs in Birmingham, said: “Andrew is an experienced, well connected real estate litigator who will expand the capabilities of our litigation and real estate practices in Birmingham and across the UK. We are delighted to welcome him to the firm.”
UK Head of Litigation, Simon Miller, added: “Andrew is a great addition to our already successful real estate litigation team. The team provides fully integrated dispute resolution and advocacy services, representing clients before all UK courts and tribunals. With Andrew at the helm, supported by senior real estate barrister, Patrick Walker, Alison Hardy and Helen Hoath, we will have a team with unrivalled experience in providing client- focused solutions in this important practice area.”
Walker's appointment follows real estate lawyer Neil Taylor's recent promotion to partner, increasing the number of real estate partners in the firm's Birmingham team to five.
Walker is also the fourth partner appointed by the Squire Patton Boggs Real Estate Practice Group so far in 2014, with Rachel Orton and Gary Paddison joining the London real estate team and Alison Hardy joining the London real estate litigation practice.
