BETHESDA, MD—Washington Property Co. has broken ground on the latest apartment building slated for the DC area, as well as its latest branded Solaire. The $60 million luxury apartment building will deliver in 2016 with 139 luxury units and 6,400-square feet of ground-floor retail.
The building, located at 7100 Wisconsin Ave., is located next to the Bethesda Metro station and Purple Line light rail stations at the corner of Wisconsin and Woodmont avenues on the site of the former Eastham's Exxon Servicenter.
There will be 21 moderately priced dwelling units. The building is being built to LEED Silver standards. WPC purchased the 25,000 square foot site in July of 2011 and went on to secure a $42 million construction loan from RBS Citizens Bank.
Solaire Bethesda is WPC's third Solaire-branded apartment community, following the 2012 opening of Solaire Silver Spring and the early 2014 opening of Solaire Wheaton.
