DALLAS–ACTIVE Network is about to join the ranks of California companies picking up and moving to Texas. After conducting an extensive search, the San Diego-based company will be moving its global headquarters to Dallas. The move will allow ACTIVE to establish centers of excellence, recruit and retain talent, and position it for continued growth.

“With the creation of a state-of-the-art global headquarters, ACTIVE Network will strengthen our ability to drive innovation, share best practices and support our culture of excellence,” says Darko Dejanovic, CEO of ACTIVE. “We see Dallas as an opportunity to centralize out location as we expand globally, recruit great talent and increase out operational excellence.”

The move, which will create 1,000 jobs and $13 million in capital investment, was made possible by an $8.6 million investment by the Texas Enterprise Fund.

"Texas' strong job creation climate has allowed our economy to grow, attracting high tech companies, investment and jobs in Texas," says Gov. Rick Perry in a statement. "This TEF investment is another example of Texas' growing stature as a tech leader, and will further strengthen Dallas' growing economy."

The move will begin immediately and continue through 2015. ACTIVE will maintain a presence in San Diego but will begin to transition employees in the current Irving, TX location to the new Dallas headquarters.
