SAN FRANCISCO—Wood Partners has hired Trinity Blue, a veteran property manager and former vice president of AvalonBay Communities in New York, as senior vice president of operations for its western region. In the newly created position, Blue will oversee and drive internal property management operations with a primary focus on maximizing net operating income on the company's Western Region portfolio.
"Trinity Blue has a reputation in the industry as a solid leader and entrepreneurial thinker. Her creative and competitive drive fits our culture and will serve her well as we continue to develop and implement Wood Partners' investment and operating strategy,” said Frank Middleton, regional director for Wood Partners' western region. “Working in partnership with the Western Region's leadership team, Trinity will help refine and drive the strategic plan. Trinity will also be an important member of our innovations team implementing an integrated approach to development that begins with a more functional approach toward design aimed at unlocking the potential for creative programming and partnerships based on the input of our residents.”
Wood Partners' western region currently has 14 class A apartment developments representing 3,750 units either under construction or in the development pipeline, including four active developments and two pipeline projects in the Pacific Northwest, two active developments and one pipeline project in Northern California, and four active developments and one pipeline project in Southern California.
"I'm delighted to have the opportunity to join such a creatively innovative and driven group of talented people at Wood Partners—a team that truly builds socially significant communities, not just beautiful apartments in great locations," Blue said.
Her hiring brings deep connections to a top tier talent pool that was sought after by Wood Partners in order to execute marketing strategies developed during the past four years.
Prior to joining Wood Partners, Blue was vice president of AvalonBay Communities for five years, where she built and deployed a best-in-class team to managed a portfolio of 24 high-rise, mid-rise, mixed-use and garden communities consisting of nearly 8,000 apartment homes valued at $3.7 billion in New York City and New Jersey. Prior to that, she served as senior director for AvalonBay's western region, consisting of 14 communities encompassing 4,000 mid-rise, mixed-use and garden-style apartment homes in Washington's King and Snohomish counties. In 1997, Blue held a dual role with Archstone Communities overseeing the marketing operations for the west coast as well as managing a portfolio in Seattle. Early in her career, she also worked for Equity Residential, Lexford and Darcorp.
A former national instructor for the Institute of Real Estate Management, Blue earned her bachelor of arts in business administration from the University of Washington in 1996.
