SAN JOSE, CA—McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.'s Northern Pacific Division has welcomed Nicholas Sandersfeld as director of business development in Silicon Valley. With 10 years of construction experience in Santa Clara, Sandersfeld joins a growing team in McCarthy's newly opened San Jose office.

“After 20 years of building in the South Bay, we are thrilled to launch our full-service office in San Jose which will allow us to better serve our South Bay clients and expand our local market share,” said McCarthy's vice president of San Jose Operations Paul Erb. “Nick's excellent relationships in the construction industry and his immersion in the Silicon Valley region for the past 10 years will help continue the momentum of increasing McCarthy's visibility, client-base and project contracts in a region chalk full of opportunities. Our current clients in industries such as healthcare, high-technology, commercial, education and parking, will benefit from direct access to our expanding San Jose-based team as we continue to grow our presence here. We look forward to Nick's leadership in helping us gain an even stronger foothold in one of the most exciting regions in the country.”

McCarthy, California's largest contractor, opened its fifth California office in San Jose on May 15. Sandersfeld will play a key role in pursuing projects and meeting the evolving needs of clients in the region, with a focus on commercial, high-technology, healthcare, research and development, industrial, laboratory, corporate office, parking structure, educational, and governmental facilities. He will also spearhead McCarthy's “Heart Hats” community involvement program in the region, which organizes employee volunteerism and other forms of monetary and in-kind support to a variety of need-based causes in the community.

Sandersfeld brings more than 10 years of business development and marketing experience in the construction and building materials industries. Sandersfeld is actively involved in the Silicon Valley Chapters of many industry organizations, including NAIOP, CoreNet Global, Urban Land Institute, RECON, SPUR and non-profit organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America and Rebuilding Together.
