PITTSBURGH, PA—Engineering and consulting firm Michael Baker International will be relocating its corporate headquarters from Moon Township, PA to downtown Pittsburgh.
The company reports it has signed a 10-year lease to occupy 22,000 square feet of space on the top two floors of the BNY Mellon Center at 500 Grant St. According to published report, Michael Baker will retain a significant presence in Moon Township, however.
The executive leadership and approximately 65 employees will relocate to the 55-story tower by December of this year.
“Downtown Pittsburgh is the epicenter of the business community in western Pennsylvania and we are excited to make the BNY Mellon Center our new global headquarters as we continue to grow and evolve as a truly innovative provider of engineering consulting services,” says Michael Baker International Chief Executive Officer Kurt Bergman. “We take immense pride in our company's involvement in Pittsburgh infrastructure growth over the last 75 years and we are excited to reaffirm our commitment to the area and city through this relocation.”
Michael Baker International is the result of the October 2013 merger between Michael Baker Corp. and Integrated Mission Solutions, an affiliate of DC Capital Partners, LLC. The merged company has approximately 5,000 workers worldwide and about 625 employees in Western Pennsylvania, according to TribLive.com. The company has grown since the merger from a $500-million company to a $1.3-billion company that now provides services to private and public clients in the United States and internationally.
