WARETOWN, NJ—A ground-breaking ceremony scheduled to take placelater today will introduce The Willows atWaretown here, a three-story, elevatored,affordable-housing-apartment community, geared toward seniorresidents, that will have 76 units.

Though leasing has not started on the project, there is alreadyinterest from several seniors who were relocated fromHurricane Sandy, LaraSchwager,development principal at Ingerman,the Cherry Hill, NJ-based multifamily firm that is constructing theproject, tells GlobeSt.com, in apre-ground-breaking interview.

"The Township of Ocean was definitely hithard by Sandy," she says. "There have been lots of inquiriesalready from seniors that have dollars that they have gotten fromtheir homes that were destroyed, so we have a high level ofinterest."
