JERSEY CITY—CBRE is now the leasing firm forthe office and retail portions of Harborside, amajor Mack-Cali Realty Corp. mixed-use developmenton the Hudson River. Though just announced as the commercial realestate firm heading up the efforts to draw those types of tenants,Mark Ravesloot, vice chairman at CBRE, tellsGlobeSt.com that we should be hearing some news by the end of theyear about the companies inking deals.

The possibilities for tenants that will go into the projectinclude tech, media and advertising companies that are getting"priced out" of Manhattan's Midtown South area, he says. There arealso opportunities for a high-end grocery store.

The development, similar to the Williamsburg waterfront inBrooklyn, will also have a built-in residential component of whatare called micro apartments, which average about 500 square feetwith large areas of common space that will include outdoorroof-deck areas, swimming pools, cafes and other types of gatheringareas.
