PHOENIXIn a move that will helpguide Metrocenter Mall in its repositioning push andaddition of a new Walmart Supercenter, the Phoenix retail landmarkhas named two industry experts to its leadership–JoeBinder as general manager and Ashley Tateas marketing director.

Binder and Tate join the mall's existing on-site team to directmarketing and redevelopment efforts for the 1.3 million-square-footretail landmark, located on Interstate 17 between Peoria and DunlapRoads in Phoenix. They will also help guide the mall as it pursueslocal redevelopment and rezoning opportunities, and welcomes a newWalmart Supercenter—the single largest capital investment inMetrocenter Mall in decades.

The new Supercenter will be situated at the site of the former,attached JCPenny outlet building, which has been vacant since 2007and which the mall will demolish to prepare for the construction ofthe Walmart project, as previously reported on GlobeSt.com.
