ARLINGTON, VA—The Department of Homeland Security has renewed a lease at 1310 North Courthouse Rd. here for 71,027 square feet. The renewal term was for five years.

Colliers International represented the landlord, a joint venture between MRP Realty and Rockpoint Group, which acquired the 353,077-square foot building in 2007 for $115 million.

For some 23 years the main occupant of the building was Verizon, but its lease expired in June 2008. Given that the building is located in the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, the new owners had little difficulty finding tenants for the property. Homeland Security, for example, moved into the building in 2010.

The building is now leased to multiple public and private sector tenants.
