ARLINGTON, VA—The Department of HomelandSecurity has renewed a lease at 1310 NorthCourthouse Rd. here for 71,027 squarefeet. The renewal term was for five years.

Colliers International represented thelandlord, a joint venture between MRP Realty andRockpoint Group, which acquired the 353,077-squarefoot building in 2007 for $115 million.

For some 23 years the main occupant of the building was Verizon,but its lease expired in June 2008. Given that the building islocated in the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, the new owners had littledifficulty finding tenants for the property. Homeland Security, forexample, moved into the building in 2010.
