ANAHEIM, CA—The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center has signed its first retail tenant: the Lost Bean, an organic coffee and tea shop. The retailer has taken space on the ground level of ARTIC, Southern California's new transportation hub here that opens in December.

As GlobeSt.com reported in April, the City of Anaheim named Lincoln Property Co. property manager for ARTIC. Information about the other five tenants was not readily available before deadline. The hub will serve as a major transportation gateway that incorporates a mixed-use center on the existing 16-acre site owned by the City of Anaheim.

The Lost Bean is the first of six tenants to claim part of the 12,000 rentable square feet of retail space available within ARTIC, which will offer a unique variety of transit, dining, retailand entertainment options in one location. The hub has a LEED-Platinum design and innovative architecture and employs sustainable green efforts at every level.

In line with ARTIC's green innovation and culture, the Lost Bean is an environmentally conscious coffee and tea shop that offers a variety of organic, homemade food and beverages. Unique to other coffee houses, the Lost Bean sources raw, 100% organic, fair-trade-certified coffee beans and roasts them in-house. The retailer will donate a portion of its profits from its ARTIC location to local charities in and around Anaheim.

According to Natalie Meeks, public works director for the City of Anaheim, “We are thrilled that the Lost Bean has found its new home at ARTIC. They provide the same blend of product excellent with an environmentally conscious culture that ARTIC delivers.”

The 67,000-square-foot ARTIC will increase mobility options for residents, local businesses, commuters and visitors to this region. On opening day, ARTIC services will include Metrolink, Amtrak, OCTA bus, Anaheim Resort Transportation, shuttles, taxis, bikes and tour and charter buses.
